How You Can Help

The Lancaster County Coalition to End Homelessness has made great strides towards ending homelessness in our community, but the fight is far from over. Join us to ensure everyone in Lancaster County has a safe place to call home.

Here are just a few ways you can help!

Individuals, community organizations and faith-based groups who want to help end homelessness in Lancaster County can contribute. Your donations will be used by the Coalition to expand, provide and subsidize permanent housing rental units for individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness.

Through your contributions, these individuals and families will be able to move off the street and/or out of shelter systems into their own apartment.

Provide Rental Units

In order to achieve the successful Housing First approach to ending homelessness, it is critical that affordable rental housing is available to help individuals and families experiencing homelessness move into permanent housing as quickly as possible.

Programs working with households to obtain rental housing invest time and resources in helping homeless individuals and families overcome barriers to accessing permanent housing. This includes being responsive to the concerns of landlords and rental management companies to promote successful housing outcomes.

If you are a landlord or property management company that is interested in partnering with the Coalition to End Homelessness, you can help by renting units to households experiencing homelessness. To learn more about how to partner with us, contact us.

Volunteering your time is one of the best ways to help the homeless and your community. Check out the link below for a wide range of volunteer opportunities that make the best use of your skills and talents.

Ending homelessness not only includes providing the housing for individuals and families to move into, but also providing employment opportunities for those individuals who are ready for permanent employment to help them maintain their housing.

The Coalition is looking to partner with employers in Lancaster County who would be open to:

  • Working with the service providers to hire candidates who are currently experiencing homelessness and ready for employment.
  • Partnering with CareerLink to provide jobs for candidates experiencing homelessness.
  • Contacting the Coalition when there is a need to hire workers.

The Coalition's service providers are willing to work with employers to ensure candidates will be successful employees. For more information, please contact us!
